El Retablo is a two-story, 17-room Art Boutique B&B that celebrates vibrant Peruvian traditions and rich cultural heritage of Cusco.

All interior spaces at El Retablo are hand-painted with intricate details by artisans of the Fine Arts School of Cusco, providing a true sense of place.

The innovative yet intimate El Retablo blends contemporary comfort with customs of Peruvian artisans, taking inspiration from retablos which are a sophisticated form of Andean folk art with three-dimensional figurines in vibrantly colored portable boxes.

Mountain Lodges of Peru restored and converted a historic building into a stylish destination three blocks from Plaza de Armas, the heart of the bustling capital.

Each of the ten Superior and seven Superior Deluxe rooms has a distinct design and thoughtful amenities include handwoven tapestries, elegant pillows and luxury bed linens.

    Hike Inkilltambo
    The hike starts at Hotel El Mercado (Siete Cuartones 306) . After crossing Plaza de Armas you will visit San Blas, the artsy neighborhood which narrow streets will take you to three archaeological sites: Kusilluchayoq, Temple of the moon and Inkilltambo.

    Inkilltambo is an archaeological site built during the Inca Wiracocha government, according to the chroniclers of the colonial era. There you can find carved rocks connected by narrow passages, as well as rectangular enclosures, platforms, fountains, stairways and canals of the pre-Hispanic era.
